Care Homes

Corinna can provide Occupational Therapy services to care homes.

  • Functional assessments: if you are concerned about a resident’s function, Corinna can assess their function and provide a report advising the care home staff on how to ensure the resident remains as independent as possible. She can advise on appropriate equipment if required and assist with ordering/fitting/usage if necessary.
  • Seating –  Corinna can assess the seating and positioning needs of a resident and recommend the appropriate chair to meet their needs. She is happy to meet with reps and oversee the trial and ordering of the chair as required.
  • Activities – Many professional bodies have highlighted the importance of meaningful activity for residents in care home. Such activity should allow each resident to feel part of daily life in the care home. Activity is part of the minimum care standards for care homes in Northern Ireland. Corinna has direct experience in facilitating meaningful activities within care homes and working alongside the College of Occupational Therapy (COT) “Living well through activities in care homes” toolkit.

If you would like any advice or support on any of the three areas above, don’t hesitate to contact Corinna for a no obligation discussion.
